Crafting Art with Layers – Artisan Cake Training at KAGC

At KAGC, cake isn’t just a dessert—it’s a canvas.

Our Advanced Diploma in Pastry & Bakery students are trained to create artisan cakes that marry flavour, structure, and stunning design. Through hands-on workshops and chef-led demonstrations, they explore the foundations of cake artistry, from sponge texture and layering to ganache coating, buttercream piping, and contemporary decoration techniques.

Whether it’s a rustic naked cake, a towering celebration piece, or a minimalist modern design, students learn to elevate everyday ingredients into professional-quality artisan cakes that are ready for commercial display—or Instagram fame.

This Artisan Cake module is one of many in the comprehensive diploma program, which also covers plated desserts, chocolate work, breads, tarts, fondant cakes, and more. The goal? To transform passion into a profession and give students the skills to stand out in today’s competitive pastry world.

This showcase features student-made artisan cakes at various stages of the learning journey—each one a delicious testament to their creativity, technical growth, and KAGC’s commitment to practical training.
